I love that sneakers have found their way into fashion & street style. And are no longer limited to just gym clothes or yoga pants! Don’t get me wrong, you will catch me from time to time running around in my leggings & Nike pullover. But you can also wear sneakers with an elevated look while maintaining a casual, effortless look. This bomber jacket from ASOS helps make this relatively simple outfit look a bit more interesting.
Here are a few tips to help pull together a sneaker friendly outfit (without looking like you’re hitting the gym):
- Keep workout clothes out of it. Try jeans, pants, a long skirt or even a dress as opposed to yoga pants or leggings. Just push yourself and try something different that fits your level of comfort and style. I prefer my black skinny jeans because they give the same slimming effect as leggings & works well with my Nikes.
- Throw on a top layer. Whether this be a coat, leather jacket, vest or bomber (like the one above), this will add dimension to your look. Even if you have on a plain tee or tank, an extra layer helps spice up an outfit without over doing it.
- Less is more. Overall, keep it simple. Clean lines, solid colors and simple accessories will help cultivate a pulled together, chic look.

October 18, 2016You pulled off a really nice look there! Not generally into sporty/sneakers style (whether paired with typical feminine items like skirts or more casual ones like jeans…) but this look is nice! The bomber does most of the talk I think!, so number 2 advice is s keeper if I want to experiment … Who knows? 😉😊 Your posts keep getting better in my opinion, keep up the good work ! 👍🏽😊
