Holiday season is upon us and within a few days, the festivities will begin. Within the next month, there will be lots of holiday parties, family time and everyone’s schedule becomes hectic. So how do you balance work, kids, holiday shopping, cooking, party planning AND still look amazing on top of it? When those relatives come into town who you only see once a year, you still want to dress to impress. BUT…you are busy with a million other things and still want to be able to eat your fill at the table. So spending a ton of time on your outfits & style is pretty far down the list. Hopefully my tips below will help give you some peace of mind 🙂
. Plan Ahead. *Duh, Kelli. I know to do that!* But hurry, do it quickly before it slips your mind! If you have 5 minutes before you go to bed, clear a little space in your closet. Pick out a few outfits for Thanksgiving, any other dinner or events you have in the upcoming weeks. If you are hosting Thanksgiving, throw in a “dinner prep” outfit if you like to wear something more comfy to cook in. Even it’s sweats and a tee, hang those up so you are fully prepared. Spending time (even if it’s a few minutes) to prep your looks will give you the ability to throw on an outfit and rush out the door with confidence.
. Accessorize. Scarves, statement boots, jewelry are great ways to pump up your style volume. This allows you to wear more casual, comfortable pieces, but spice it with accessories. You could throw on a plain tee, but a killer necklace or scarf will take it to the next level. Extra tip: hang up your accessories with your clothes so it saves you that much more time & helps pull together a complete look.
. When In Doubt, Wear Black. This is one tip that I exercise the most. Black is slimming and when in doubt of what to wear, I always reach for black items. It always looks chic and classic, no matter what circumstance.
. Add A Cozy, Top Layer. Whether it be a trendy jacket, an oversized cardigan or your favorite sweater, just add that extra element to your look. This GAP turtleneck sweatshirt (pictured) is such an unique find and I love the street wear, effortless vibe it gives. Plus, it’ll help hide those extra pounds from the mountain of mashed potatoes smothered in gravy that I plan to shovel in on Thursday 🙂
