As a kid, I used to hate jeans. As in, fully loathe with all of my tiny being because of how “uncomfortable” they were. So leggings (preferably brightly colored and boldly printed) became my pant of choice for many years. But hey, it was the 90’s and when Stephanie Tanner is your style guru, it’s bound to happen. But fortunately for me (and the rest of the world), I grew to love jeans and embrace the true versatility they provide. I’ve worn black skinny jeans to work with blazers for years, jeans with heels for date nights and even sweated through many a summer in my beloved denim. So safe to say, any new type of denim is always welcome in my world.
As a grey obsessed gal, naturally a pair of grey jeans would find it’s way into my wardrobe (this Paige pair is my favorite). But not everyone loves colored denim, so I thought I would make a case for why you need to try a pair 🙂
1 . Grey jeans are a great neutral. You always need an easy, low maintenance neutral piece to help pull your whole look together. Grey jeans are the perfect complement to a variety of prints, solid jewel tones or any type of shoe you throw on.
2 . Grey jeans complement other colors & help them pop. Like black, grey can be paired with almost any other color and help heighten it’s vibrancy. Even pastels would benefit from being worn with grey without trying to compete for the eye’s attention.
3 . Grey jeans are a nice break from traditional blue washes. If you are a denim lover and are looking to expand your collection, grey is a low-key addition to any wardrobe. Black jeans take the cake in the sleek department, but they are hard to beat when you are looking for an alternative to blue.
