A chic tee with the perfect balance of ease, polish + comfort is one of my favorite pieces to find. It’s the perfect versatile item – throw it on with a pair of jeans or dress it with a blazer & heels.
This Madewell tee (above) I scored last fall on sale and I can’t tell you how many times I’ve worn it. With summer right around the corner, it’s about to get lots of wear with shorts and neutral slides.

Now that the weather is finally warming, I am excited to trade to my heavy layers for lighter ones. I have been living in easy tees, breezy loose tops and distressed boyfriend jeans while I slowly get my post baby body put back together. Thank goodness we still have another month before swimsuit season. And I am VERY grateful that one pieces are in style! For the most part, I have been gravitating towards effortless pieces that I can throw on and go. Clean white sneakers? Check. Cropped pants? Check. Versatile comfy tee? Check. In addition to these must-have items for spring, I have also added a few pieces I have my eye on.

With each passing year, my appreciation for quality material and classic silhouettes grows. I like to mix in fun prints and a few trends every now and again, but neutral, timeless pieces have truly become the foundation of my wardrobe.

Summer is far from over and yet I am so ready for it to cool down…way down. I don’t know how many more 100 degree muggy days I can take! Thank goodness for swimming pools and air conditioning. So in the meantime, I have rounded up my latest obsessions for this month.

Round bags have been everywhere lately & their polished, classic silhouette is hard to resist. This sleek number is perfect for summer with it’s fresh white and minimal clean, which can elevate any outfit (I spotted this at a local boutique on sale but there are other colors available here). I love finding pieces that have a feminine flare (think more subdued) without adding over-the-top ruffles or bold, fussy prints. This fits the bill for a modern staple that makes quite the statement.
All of us have busy schedules — whether it be work, family, vacations, everyday tasks & errands, we tend to get pulled in a million different directions. So it’s important to crave out time to spend with your significant other or take the opportunity to meet someone new. Date nights are the perfect opportunity to slow down and connect!
Below are a few tips on how to build a fool proof, date night look with minimum fuss.
1 . Start with your favorite staple. In order to make the most out of our night, I always want to feel feminine & confident, yet comfortable because focus should be on relaxing & enjoying your time. Just wear what makes you feel your best — chic & classic in a LTD or flirty & bold in a bright floral.
2 . Play up the accessories. New heels you can’t wait to try out? A hot bag you save for only special occasions? This is the perfect opportunity to rock any specialty items that don’t get major play in your daily wardrobe. Statement earrings, neck scarf, bejeweled clutch…accents are a great way to turn up the volume on an outfit.
3 . Bring an extra layer (just in case). Restaurants & movie theaters are notorious for pumping the AC, especially in the summer time. Don’t let it get the best of you in an off the shoulder romper or sleeveless dress! Combat a chill with bring a light jacket you can slip over your shoulders — you can always leave it in the car, but it’s there if need be.
Classic, sleek, timeless. Stripes are definitely a wardrobe essential & one of my absolute favorites to wear. Whether your preference is big & bold or thin & understated, there is a stripe for everyone. Summer is season to play up florals & prints and let them be the star of the show. Pairing your favorite stripe top with neutral pieces & accessories is the perfect way to balance out an impactful outfit.

When it comes to weekend wear, comfort is the number one priority along with keeping an outfit chic & effortless. Denim is always heavily in my off duty rotation, so having a good selection of tops to mix & match is a must.
This fringed poncho is a great oversized option to pair with distressed denim & a clean slide. A textured, loose fit is a sometimes welcome after eating too much ice cream at the pool! (Guilty as charged.)
